Allyship at Work Clinic with Joe Consedine

We returned to Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington for the March Gender at Work Community Lunch!

This time, we brought back our sold-out Allyship at Work event featuring Joe Consedine to the capital.

This event was a clinic about Allyship. Allyship is more than a buzzword; it’s crucial to achieving gender equality. To accelerate progress, we need men to step up as allies in the workplace and beyond. Men often hold positions of power and influence in many organisations, making their support instrumental in driving change and dismantling barriers that hinder women's progress at work. Allyship is a bridge that connects intention to action, leading us towards a fairer and more inclusive workforce. So, what does allyship look like in action? How can we be better allies for underserved groups?

Joe Consedine joined us to speak on allyship. Joe is an independent diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) consultant and the Co-founder of Mobilise, the unique men-as-allies leadership development programme. He has worked with New Zealand’s leading 80 CEOs as the Director of Global Women’s Champions for Change. He was also the former DEI Strategy Lead and General Manager New Zealand for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Joe’s mission is to help organisations create world-class workplaces of the future where inclusion sits at the heart of high performance.
